Our new website has gone live
We have launched our freshly re-designed website. The last version was from 2002, so it was long overdue! Go and take a look at http://www.vestact.com. The site requires a secure log in to see your own portfolio. Let us know if you need a password reminder!
The site has updated graphics and easier navigation. Certain features are still under development, including more graphs and return metrics, but the basics - portfolio and statements - are there, in a much more readable format.
We will make similar improvements to our e-mail messages soon.
Personnel changes
The Vestact team has always been very stable. Paul Theron, Sasha Naryshkine (the co-founders) and Byron Lotter handle all client accounts. Our admin assistant/driver is Howard Mashego. Finally, Mavis Bande is our receptionist and office manager.
Byron has just gone off for a three-month mini-sabbatical, touring Central and South America with his girlfriend. We are really hoping that he will come back!
Michael Treherne will fill in for Byron until the end of November. He is from eMalahleni (Witbank), holds a B.Comm Honours degree and is currently a CFA candidate.
Fee adjustments
As I mentioned back in June when I wrote to you about our very satisfactory investment returns (23% per annum average, over 10 years), we are moving our fees to a flat 1% for recommended holdings, on all accounts. That change will be implemented at this coming month-end tomorrow. This applies to accounts in Johannesburg and New York.
Hot Stoxx on CNBC Africa
I am on CNBC Africa each weekday evening at 8pm co-anchoring a show called Hot Stoxx. CNBC Africa is on DStv, channel 410. This show is also repeated at 8am every weekday morning.
New office premises at Melrose Arch
We recently re-arranged our office interior, at 24 Crescent Drive, Melrose Arch. Come and pay us a visit.
Best wishes
Paul Theron
