Prime Day Success

Amazon Prime Day was another big success. Members bought $12.7 billion worth of goods, 6.1% higher than last year. There was an interesting push to sell services this year, in addition to cheap electronic goods. Travel opportunities through booking.com, food delivery through Grubhub and telehealth through One Medical were all heavily promoted.

Amazon has clearly nailed the ability to sell goods, so promoting services is the next big thing. Amazon is very adept at selling advertising deals to its partners. Booking.com is one of Google's biggest clients, spending billions of dollars a year on advertising through the search engine. Now they have another avenue of reaching clients through the Amazon platform.

At the end of the day, every physical product or service needs to be sold. Amazon are very good at selling, and are going hard after new markets.
