Google Buys Siemplify

Google has confirmed that it acquired Israeli cybersecurity startup Siemplify in an effort to add security orchestration, automation, and response (SOAR) capabilities to its cloud business. The transaction will set Google back by $500 million which is a blip in the ocean for a company with over $169 billion in cash.

Siemplify is a cloud-based provider of tools for integrating and automating security operations. Its technology allows companies to present a single platform for security analysis and response, bringing tools and allowing for security playbooks to be automated.

This acquisition is good for Google as it will give the tech giant a stronger foothold in end-to-end business security services. Siemplify will become part of Google Cloud's security team, joining its Chronicle operation.
