Amazon Go Grocery Stores

Amazon has just launched its 'Amazon Go Grocery' store. What makes the store special is that there is no need to go past a check out counter when you are done shopping. While you are walking around, cameras and AI keep track of what you are buying, and then when you leave the store, it simply charges your Amazon account.

Previously, Amazon had small convenience stores with the same concept, but they feel it is time to scale up. The worst part of shopping is standing in a queue to pay, especially when the person in front of you decides that they need to also buy airtime, buy electricity, and then they can't find their card. The easier you make it to shop, the more customers you will attract.

Amazon already dominates cloud services and e-tail. I imagine that it is only a matter of time until they become a big player in the brick and mortar space.
