The iPhone 11

The new three camera iPhone has arrived! The three lenses are Telephoto, Wide and Ultra-wide; all so that you can take that perfect Instagram shot. Here is a 2-minute video from Apple, summing up what they launched at the event last night - Apple Event in a flash. When I watched the video this morning, it had 9.5 million views, then I refreshed my page 30 minutes later and it had over 10 million views. So Apple will make a few bucks from Google. Nice.

The first thing of note is that the new iPhone range is simply called the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max. Much less confusing than iPhone XR or XS or XS Max. Huh? The iPhone 11 'only' has a dual camera but the same processing chip as the more expensive, three camera, iPhone Pro. The price tag is $699, which is $50 cheaper than the iPhone XR. That makes it a very attractive alternative if you don't want to shell out $999 for the iPhone Pro. Goldman Sachs this morning said that they are a bit worried that it will be too attractive; people who normally get the pricey iPhone might opt for the cheaper iPhone.

Apple also launched the Apple Watch Series 5, where the main feature is that the screen never shuts off and still has the same battery life as the Series 4 watch. That's an impressive feat from the engineers. The next product unveiled is an upgrade to the bottom of the range iPad. It now comes with a bigger screen and better processing. Then lastly there is Apple TV+, which Bright chats more about below. Overall, Apple continues to push other products so that they are not solely reliant on iPhone revenue.
