Tesla - Record Production Number

Tesla rebounds from a bad first quarter by delivering 95 200 cars in the second quarter, breaking records. This beats the companies 2018 fourth quarter record when the company delivered 90 700 cars. The news comes after a rough first quarter, in which the company incurred massive losses as deliveries shrunk.

Tesla also says it has produced a total of 87 048 cars in the second quarter, with an additional 7 400 cars in transit near the end of the quarter. With 77 500 Model 3s delivered, they accounted for the bulk of these numbers.

The Model S and X, which the company bulks together in these reports, also sold well with 17 650 cars delivered. However, the Model S and X numbers show that there is still plenty of customers willing to pay for a luxury electric sedan or SUV.

The strong Model 3 demand indicates that Tesla's most important product is still extremely popular. The company previously said it expects to deliver 360 000 to 400 000 cars in the 2019 financial year; which should be achievable if the company continues to produce vehicles at this pace.
