Google teaming up with Tencent

For many US tech companies China is the final frontier. Mostly because it has been completely out of bounds. Companies like Amazon, Google and Facebook have very little to do in China because they have been blocked from operating there. This is partly why Trump is taking the Chinese on with these trade wars.

But Google is trying to find a different inroad into the world's most populated country. They are in discussions with Tencent to offer them cloud services. Tencent is clearly struggling to carry the load of data that is coming through from their users, and they need some help.

According to this Bloomberg article titled Google Is in Talks With Tencent and Inspur for China Cloud, Google could also be creating a search engine which adheres to the Chinese government's censorship requirements. Both developments could be very positive for Google, and it's parent company Alphabet.
