With Netlfix since 2011

I'm a big fan of Netflix; as a user of the streaming service and as an investor in their shares.

I first bought the stock, for myself and an early customer, back in October 2011. In those days the company still posted out movies on DVDs, and the idea of shows being watched on the internet was in its infancy. The share price was $10.74 (adjusted for a share split in 2015). Now they are at $548.19.

Some years ago, I suggested that one day Netflix would have a billion customers paying $50 each per month. Well, they are not there yet, they only have 260 million subscribers so far. And the average revenue per user is much lower than fifty bucks. Just give them some more time, they'll get there.

Napoleon Bonaparte once said, "If you wish to be a success in the world, promise everything, deliver nothing."

That may be true in politics, but in the world of business, it's better to work hard, have a knockout product, under-promise and over-deliver.
