Prosus Ventures Invests Into Shipper

Prosus continues to work hard on small deals behind the scenes. Late last week it was announced that they had invested in an Indonesia based logistics technology company called Shipper.

Shipper attempts to give online sellers world class logistic solutions such as shipping, warehousing and couriering so that they can compete with the likes of Amazon's delivery standard. The company already has more than 25 000 online sellers.

Indonesia has a fragmented online retail environment so to be effective on price, compared to brick and mortar, they need a scalable logistics solution. Tripper is trying to fill that gap.

It was not disclosed how much Prosus Ventures (used to be Naspers Ventures) put in or how much of the business they own. But it is a nice reminder that things are ticking along nicely behind the scenes.
