Microsoft has unveiled a new Teams version which is twice as fast. The new software is less demanding of computer resources, meaning older PCs can still run it. Microsoft wants Teams to be quick to open and start a meeting.
Microsoft says that Teams now has 280 million active monthly users, up from 270 million a year ago and 250 million from July 2021. Virtual meetings were not just a Covid lockdown fad. Even as more people return to the office, the usage figures have grown.
Microsoft is a truly indispensable platform for global business operations. It is a company with a big moat and very healthy profit margins, two things we like to see in the stocks that we own.
